Waxing in Da Nang: What to Expect

Waxing abroad raises two questions that have nothing to do with price: who will be doing it, and how private is the room? Those are reasonable things to want answered before you book, and most salon websites never mention them. So let's start there.

Who performs the treatment

At LENA, every waxing treatment is carried out by a female therapist — every area, every guest, no exceptions. You don't need to ask or specify when booking.

How private is it

This varies a lot between salons in Da Nang, and it's worth checking before you commit. Some do waxing behind a curtain on the main floor; others have a separate room.

Our Hai Chau branch at 68/4 Bach Dang has a dedicated waxing room with a door that closes. If you're booking bikini or Brazilian waxing, that's the branch to choose — it's the only one of our four with a private room.

Hygiene: the part worth asking about

The single most important question in any waxing studio anywhere is whether the spatula goes back into the wax pot after touching skin. If it does, the pot is shared between guests. Ours doesn't — fresh wax per guest, and no double-dipping.

The same principles we apply to nail tools apply here, and you can see that routine on our hygiene page.

How to prepare

  • Hair length: about 5 mm — roughly a grain of rice, or two to three weeks of growth. Too short and the wax has nothing to grip.
  • Don't shave first. It's the most common mistake. Shaving resets the growth and means waiting another two weeks.
  • Skip heavy body lotion that morning; clean, dry skin works best.
  • Timing in your trip: book it early in your holiday rather than the day you fly, so any redness settles while you're still here.

After: wait about 24 hours before direct sun, the sea, a pool or a hot bath.

Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive than usual. If you have beach plans, get waxed the day before rather than the morning of.

Does it hurt?

Honestly — a little, and more the first time than afterwards. It's brief. If you're nervous, start with a small area like eyebrows or lip to see how your skin reacts before booking anything larger. Tell your therapist if you're sensitive; she can work in smaller sections.

Booking

We're open 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM daily. For waxing — especially if you want the private room at Hai Chau — message ahead rather than walking in, so the room is free when you arrive.
