How that compares to home

To put it in perspective, a gel manicure that costs around $8 in Da Nang is often $40–70 in Korea, Australia, the US or Western Europe. That's why a lot of visitors treat a nail appointment as part of the holiday — you can get a full gel set, design, and a spa pedicure for less than a single service back home.

What changes the price?

  • Gel vs regular color — gel lasts 2–3 weeks and costs a little more (see our gel vs regular guide).
  • Design complexity — a plain color is cheapest; French, ombre, chrome or hand-painted art add to the base price. Art is charged per nail, so a couple of accent nails costs far less than a full set.
  • Extensions — adding length (tips, builder gel or acrylic) is the biggest step up in price.
  • Add-ons — removal of old gel, extra colors or rhinestones are small extras on top.

Cash or card?

Cash in Vietnamese Dong is simplest and matches the posted price exactly. Many salons — including LENA — also accept card and bank transfer, though card payments carry a 4% surcharge. It's worth carrying some cash for the exact amount. Tipping isn't expected in Vietnam, but it's always appreciated.

Cheap doesn't mean low quality

Low prices in Da Nang are about the local cost of living — not corners cut. The thing that actually matters is hygiene: a good salon uses a heat sterilizer and UV cabinet and opens a sealed, single-use kit in front of you. That's the one thing worth checking before you sit down (here's how we do it, with a short video).
