Paying at a Nail Salon in Da Nang
Short answer: bring 500,000₫ in cash and you are covered for almost any visit. Cards work too, with a 4% surcharge. Tipping is not expected. The longer answer, with the actual numbers, is below.
What we accept
| Method | Extra cost |
|---|---|
| Cash (Vietnamese dong) | None |
| Debit or credit card | 4% surcharge |
| Bank transfer | None |
About the 4%.
It is the card processing fee, passed on rather than absorbed — standard practice at small businesses across Vietnam. We would rather show it than quietly build it into every price, including for the majority who pay cash.
In real money it is small: 8,000₫ on a 200,000₫ gel manicure — about thirty US cents. On the largest item on our menu it is 27,200₫, roughly one dollar.

The four things that are charged separately
Not hidden — just worth knowing before you sit down, because they are the only items that can move a total upward:
- Colour on an exfoliation pedicure. The exfoliation pedicures are skin work. Gel colour on top is charged as colour, not included.
- Hand-painted art, per nail. From 20,000₫ (about $1) each. Ten decorated nails is a different number from two accent nails — say which you want.
- Removing old work. Removing gel is 30,000₫; removing tips or acrylic is 50,000₫. If you are arriving with an old set on, add this.
- Rhinestones. From 5,000₫ each.
If you want the total confirmed before anything starts, ask. We will write it down.
Tipping
Tipping is not customary in Vietnam the way it is in North America. There is no service charge on the bill, no line for a gratuity, and no expectation from the technician. The price on the menu is the price you pay.
Plenty of visitors do leave something for a technician they were pleased with, and it is genuinely appreciated — but nobody is counting, and nobody will treat you differently for not doing it. If you want to say thank you without cash, a Google review naming the technician means more to them than you would think.
A note on dollars
Every price on this site is set in Vietnamese dong. The dollar figures are approximate conversions shown for reference, calculated at roughly 25,000₫ to the dollar. Exchange rates move; the dong price does not. Pay in dong, by card, or by transfer.
Ask before you arrive
If you are not sure what your set will cost — particularly with extensions, art, or an old set that needs removing — send a photo on WhatsApp. We will give you a number before you travel across town for it.
